CHRISTMAS PILLOW
WB Scrooge
Friend Carolyn chided me after last week's diatribe on the lazy apolitical people who stand aside for Bush, Arnold, Republicans and Fascism (BARF). Her complaint was it is Christmas, time for something soft and reassuring; a Christmas Pillow.
Everyone, even Carolyn, knows WB is a nasty, cheerless fellow. So, no surprise: I told her it was no time to lay down and goof off, not even for one day.
I relent. It's OK if you go out and blow away a lot of money on presents, egg nog and good cheer. Tickle yourselves. You can do this for a few days. I WILL LOOK THE OTHER WAY.
BUT, come January 2, 2004, you better be rid of the hangover. You better be ready to knuckle down to the tasks at hand.
Worthy Causes
If you cannot think of anything else to do with your money, here are a few places you can deposit some of it.
Mission Statement
The mission of AIDS.ORG is to help prevent HIV infections and to improve the lives of those affected by HIV and AIDS by providing education and facilitating the free and open exchange of knowledge at an easy-to-find centralized website.
Overview
AIDS.ORG makes access to important AIDS information easier and faster. We provide prevention, testing, and treatment information to over 250,000 people every month. AIDS.ORG has been awarded the "Health on the Net Foundation" Code of Conduct (HONcode) seal for reliability and credibility of information in the field of healthcare.
Every month, over 160,000 young people under 25 turn to AIDS.ORG, making us an important resource since over 50% of new HIV infections in the USA occur in this age group.
AIDS.ORG, Inc. is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) educational organization, and maintains a very strict privacy policy.
We make it our goal to be the best starting point for someone looking for AIDS information on the Internet. Our intent is that users be directed to the best information on the topic they're investigating. We bring professionals and the public together to share knowledge and experiences. (Our website provided a program of accredited education for medical professionals, allowing doctors in rural and isolated areas to better serve AIDS patients.)
